Antalya's Smart Buses & Transportation Smart Cards
Antalya's smart buses have good features for passengers such as with the "Next-stop" display and voice announcing system, passengers will know where they are and when to get off the bus. People unfamiliar with the route or area will be more likely to take buses as the announcing system provides a navigation guide. Secondly, the passenger data collected from the Automatic Passenger Counter (APC) will be translated into statuses for people to know the seat availability on a bus. The transit dispatch center can use this information to determine the need to dispatch extra buses during peak-passenger hours. Lastly, through the on-board GPS device and the RF link, the transit center will be able to gather transit data collected from buses in real-time. In addition to this, free Wi-Fi available on all buses in Antalya.
Antalya Transportation Smart Card
With a little smart card, people can travel around the city easily. The Antalya Transportation Smart Card, like the MetroCard in New York City and the Oyster Card in London, can be used on all of the subway trains, Airport Express Train, city buses and some taxis. People can get a 50% discounts when paying for the city-bus fare by card. What's more, the Transportation Smart Card could be used at some designated supermarkets, long-distance bus lines and the expressways in this city.
Who can apply for the card? Every one could apply for using the Transportation Smart Card. No ID Card, passport or other documents is required for renting a card, so the card will not be registered to user's name and refunds will not be available if lost.
