Antalya goes smart with free WiFi zones
Wireless communication plays a critical role in all Smart City projects and cities very often start building a wireless network as a first step towards becoming a “Smarter City”. In order to automate any process and transfer information, we’re always in need of communication networks across the entire city.
Now, Antalya offers free Wi-Fi in areas like parks, beaches and major central areas.
Antalya Metropolitan Municipality is aiming to increase resident’s & tourists's access to the internet and the use of technology in their daily lives & holidays in Antalya.
Roll-out Plan for WiFi Services in Public Spaces:
Antalya has an ambitious Roll-Out Plan with a target of increasing the network by new hotspots.
Introducing WiFi to municipal parks and gardens:
The aim behind this initiative is to extend the Antalya WiFi service to the city's parks and gardens, and to boost it in children's play areas as well as other points of interest in the parks.
Installing WiFi on the city bus network and the Antray:
The idea here is to install the Antalya WiFi service on the city's buses and at the main metro stations. It will cover the entire bus network.
